I started my real estate career back in the early 2000s as a Buyer's Agent with a national big brand company making just 30% commission to soak up all the info & leads that I could. 30%! Can you imagine?! I was 24 years old & hungry to learn all the things. Check out Manny aka my #FavoriteLender & I before we were married in one of our marketing ads...in the early 2000s....where if you were breathing you made money in real estate; no wonder we were smiling.
From there, I quickly progressed to a rain-making team leader. There are so many things about that brokerage & the two different brokers within that brand who helped shaped who I am to this day that I will forever be grateful for; especially after many years of service & success with them.
Despite loving the people & the office environment, the large brokerage fees, desk fees, & franchise fees no longer made financial sense for my growing team. I will never forget that lump in my throat when I knew that I had to have that talk that many agents do with their mentors/brokers/leaders as we forge on our way to our own path as a Broker/Owner.
The 2008 crash, when short sales were our "new normal," is when I opened my own boutique brokerage, Smart Realty Group, with a handful of agents & an amazing assistant who had the wherewithal to schedule all my appointments a half hour early in my calendar (she knew how to herd cats, for sure).
Policies, procedures, long manifestos ala Jerry Maguire....I had & STILL HAVE a passion for elevating the experience for my customers (we called them clients back then) as well as for my agents. It was, in theory, an amazing plan. The thing about being a boutique broker/owner and the rainmaker and the top producer....you just have one head....and far too many hats.
The final straw? I was an hour late to my son's 3rd birthday party & I knew that burning it at every end for so many years was not the DREAM COME TRUE I had envisioned when I started CHASING MY DREAM. The real estate gods had a plan (as they always do) and in late 2011 I accepted a very small buyout to become a Managing Broker for a small franchise.
Then, in April 2012, just when I was getting used to a new non-competing broker position, my husband, who had been my #FavoriteLender all those years had an opportunity to open his own branch of our mortgage company in a new market. So, we packed up our family & moved to uncharted territory....Volusia County, Florida.
I had to take off my real estate broker hat & put on the "building a small, unknown mortgage brand from the ground up in a new market" hat; which we have successfully done now, TWICE.
We took the "Literal & Figurative Marriage Between Lender & REALTOR®" to the next level, creating a
"REALTOR®-Centric" company culture, which has served our employees, REALTOR® Partners, & clients exceptionally well for the past decade as #YourFavoriteLender.
We continue to educate, train, & grow real estate industry professionals each & every week. We pride ourselves on having our finger to the pulse of the market.

I am very passionate about REALTOR® Development & fostering industry involvement. One of my favorite things about Real Estate is how often our "competitors" tend to truly be colleagues & how amazing this business can be when we all work together for the greater good. While I have known many versions of success as a fully commission-only "Real Estate Family" since 2001, it wasn't until 2019 when we partnered with Robert Palmer & his team that I understood that the real POWER in being "Powered by" is WHO you are powered by.
From day one, it was clear that Robert & his team of executives are as passionate about this business as Team Sarnes always has been. We "eat, breathe, & sleep" #AllThingsRealEstate & continually work to build the better mousetrap, together. The Machine that is the Robert Palmer Companies...the same Machine that fuels lpt Realty...helped my little family business grow exponentially in such a short time.
So, in February 2022, when Robert asked me to hang my Real Estate Broker License with his newest company, lpt Realty all while still continuing to offer my REALTOR® Partners the training, mentorship, collaboration, marketing, & amazing mortgage service I'd been doing all these years....it was a no-brainer.
Plus, now I finally get to share with all the agents I've come to know & love (& the ones I've yet to meet) how to build their own brands & grow through access to additional resources....and through my real life, proven, example.
I couldn't be more excited for & proud of the launch of LPT Realty. This isn't some vanity project but rather the culmination of years of experience, research, expertise, & commitment to helping people.
There is zero doubt in my mind that this #BrokerageForLife #RealEstatePlatform is going to revolutionize the real estate industry & perhaps, the world.....
